BC LIQUOR STORES COLLECT OVER $345,000 FOR HAITI RELIEF VANCOUVER – BC Liquor Store customers and staff have generously donated over $345,000 to help support Canadian Red Cross relief efforts in Haiti.

Between Jan. 19 and Feb. 12, 2010, all 197 BC Liquor Stores across British Columbia accepted voluntary donations in denominations of $2.00, $5.00 or multiples thereof. The entire sum was sent to the Canadian Red Cross Haiti Earthquake Fund. The Canadian Red Cross support efforts in Haiti include providing medical support, clean water, food and shelter to provide relief following the 7.0-magnitude earthquake the struck off the western coast of Haiti on Jan. 12, 2010. This is the fourth time that BC Liquor Stores have collected donations from customers and staff for the Canadian Red Cross Society. The three previous disaster relief campaigns were BC Wildfires (2003), Tsunami (2004-05) and Hurricane Katrina (2005).
