3. Leadership to Keep Children Alcohol Free

   Leadership to Keep Children Alcohol Free is a national campaign targeted to preventing alcohol use by children 9-15. Founded by the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism and The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation in 1999 and also supported by five additional Federal funding partners, the Leadership initiative’s goals are to increase awareness about early onset alcohol use and to mobilize prevention efforts across the country.

   “Talk to your kids about alcohol” encourages parents to open the dialogue about alcohol with their preteens sooner rather than later. It provides parents with tips for communicating, common myths about alcohol and Web sites, including yours, which we think might be useful to parents. Users have the option of sending the micro-site on to others who may be interested.
